beautiful writing, original artwork

Kallos Ink started in my head a long time ago. My husband, Micah, and I really put pen to paper in late 2020/early 2021, and began working on ideas for how to market my calligraphy work.

Kallos Ink comes from the Greek word, kalligraphos, where we we get the word calligraphy. Kalligraphos • a person who writes beautifully — kallos meaning beauty & graphein meaning write. So, we make beautiful writing into personal and original artwork for you to enjoy in your home.

I do the letters, florals, and watercolors, and he does additional embellishments and illustrations, plus watercolor. I take custom quote and name requests. Just send me a message and I am happy to work through all the details with you, and I will keep you involved in the process, if you want to be.

Any questions about my artwork? Please ask! I am excited to tell you about Kallos Ink.

beauty in all things

Kallos Ink combines hand lettering and watercolor techniques to create beautiful artwork.

Our process typically begins with pencil and paper - a sketch, then painting, then inking, and finally the words. I love finding the beauty in things around me, and I create what I love. You’ll find nature at the center of most of our artwork, with a few other things mixed in (dogs, books, music, and a little bit of nerdy).

words & pictures

Personally, I find words just as inspiring as pictures. When I doodle in the corners of my pages, I find myself adding words to the doodles - lyrics to songs stuck in my head, people’s names, the words I hear around me. As much as I am an artist, I am also a writer, so it just fits to combine the two into my artwork.
